Cooperative ESL Ministries (CESLM) is hosting this 3.5 hour webinar to help churches, nonprofits, businesses and individuals working with newcomers to Canada to be better prepared to welcome and communicate with them in churches, neighbourhoods, workplaces, schools and other venues.
Learning Objectives: After participation in this workshop, participants will be able to:
- identify differences in cultural values
- identify their personal cultural values
- identify situations in which the differences in cultural values can present barriers to effective communication
- identify and use strategies for effective cross-cultural communication

Cooperative ESL Ministries (CESLM) is hosting this 3.5 hour webinar to train and equip ESL teachers, volunteers, church staff, nonprofit ministries and individuals working with newcomers to Canada.
The opening session of the webinar will better prepare you to share your faith with your students, neighbours, coworkers or friends. As well, in workshop one, you will learn how to recognize trauma in newcomers and identify resources and tools as you support them through their trauma. And the second workshop will equip ESL teachers to teach students job search skills.
