ZOOM WEBINAR SERIES—Using Zoom to Teach ESL Online
Join us as we explore this new way of teaching ESL to help students gain confidence in their English language skills.
The two webinars—one for beginner Zoom users and the other for intermediate Zoom users—will run on Saturday morning, August 15th. Each webinar will be 1-hour, with a half-hour break in between. Participants may purchase tickets for one webinar, or attend both webinars at a discounted rate.
Option 1: Webinar 1: Beginner—9:30 to 10:30 a.m. for $15.00/ticket.
Option 2: Webinar 2: Intermediate—11:00 a.m. to 12 p.m. for $15.00/ticket.
Option 3: Webinar 1 and 2—9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for $25.00/ticket (save $5.00).
Our presenters, Rick and Patti Love, will walk you through the steps of how to use Zoom to teach an online ESL class.
Some of the things you will learn:
- Start and online ESL Class using Zoom.
- Gain knowledge, skill and confidence hosting and leading an online ESL class.
- Prepare and encourage volunteers to lead an online ESL Class.
- Help students gain experience and confidence while using technology in an online ESL classroom.
- Ask any questions you want about starting, hosting and leading an online ESL class.
About Rick and Patti
Rick and Patti have been involved in cross-cultural ministry since 1994. They run Love New Canadians, a nonprofit ministry equipping local churches to serve and welcome new Canadians in their neighbourhoods. Patti also serves as Pastor of Intercultural Ministries at Foothills Alliance Church in Calgary.
Rick’s education includes a Master of Divinity degree with a focus on cross-cultural ministries and a PhD in Biblical Studies.
Patti has a Masters degree with a focus on cross-cultural studies, as well as a Master of Arts in Teaching English Language and Literature. Patti has been certified with ATESL (Alberta Teachers of English as a Second Language) since 2006.
